Killer Calendars in SharePointWhen it comes to calendar views, End Users are often frustrated with SharePoint's limited customization options. In this workshop, participants will learn that with little effort calendar views can be tweaked to their liking.

The techniques in this presentation/workshop have been refined by Christophe Humbert, author of Path to SharePoint. As the presenter of the session, Christophe will walk through hands-on implementation of the calendar solutions. He will also review some traps to avoid when dealing with SharePoint calendars in general.

The solutions can be implemented in WSS or MOSS without access to the SharePoint server.

You will receive a SharePoint sandbox to test the solutions and all of the resources necessary to use the solutions within your own production environment. Techniques presented in the live online workshop include:

  • Add color coding to different types of events
  • Resize a month or week view
  • Display weekdays only
  • Embed a calendar from another site or site collection

This workshop is aimed at Power Users and Site Adminstrators who are responsible for managing calendars on their SharePoint site. The solutions are a good alternative to third party, SharePoint calendars web parts for those on a limited budget.

Presenter: Christophe Humbert, Path to SharePoint

As a consultant in Information Systems, Christophe Humbert has been providing training/coaching to information workers in the past 10 years. He is also, on occasion, a lecturer in universities - mostly in MBA programs - where he has been teaching Management Information Systems since 2001.

Christophe been involved in SharePoint deployments since 2004. His areas of interest include collaboration, collaborative Project Management, information architecture, Web design, mashups and dashboards.

Testimonials from previous participants of EndUserSharePoint.com online workshops

Joyce [Become Your Company's SharePoint SuperStar!]
"I signed up on my own dime, but once the boss saw the results he offered to reimburse me. Now there’s a testimony to the value!"

Heidi [Fundamentals of SharePoint Lists and Libraries]
"This was one of the best training sessions I have attended. It delivered a lot of powerful information yet was simple to follow and participate in"

Donna [Simple Site Planning: Get it right the first time!]
"I found this to be a very eye opening workshop. With Sharepoint I find that there are many items that become overwelming. When you broke it down into the simple spreadsheets it made much more sense."

Linda [Fundamentals of SharePoint Lists and Libraries]
"The hands on training along with following your lead, helped me get more confident in working in SharePoint."

Mick [Simple Site Planning: Get it right the first time!]
"Anybody who has worked at SharePoint knows that if you get your planning right then you can save yourself a lot of work. I thought the impact of the workshop was kept high by having a live customer, this technique delivered a healthy slug of reality to (the) proceedings."

Urs [Fundamentals of SharePoint Lists and Libraries] "Very professional work. Thanks to Mark and his team. The workshop format with the hands-on lab made the 3 hours webconferencing event a valuable experience for me."
